The technology that replaces the role of humans

The following seven human occupations will be replaced by technology:

1. Driver

The driving profession will cease to exist when self-driving automobiles become commonplace (autonomous vehicles).

The car will be able to drive the streets automatically with just a vocal command or no instruction. By New Year’s Eve 2030, autonomous automobiles will have become a mainstream means of transportation, thanks to their AI ecosystem’s ongoing improvement.

2. Housemaid

On the AI platform, various domestic appliances, including televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, and washing machines, would operate autonomously.

The various household devices will be networked using a machine-to-machine (M2M) link. In addition, each piece of equipment is also outfitted with Internet of Things sensors to interpret user behavior and become more intelligent in its service to employers.

3. Personal Secretary and Assistant

Since 2017, the development of AI-based Personal Virtual Assistants (PVA) has exploded, and gadgets like Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant, and Bixby have become commonplace. PVA advancements continue to be enhanced so that everyone will have a personal secretary capable of performing a variety of tasks, including as booking tickets, locating songs or movies, providing weather information, managing driver’s licenses and identification cards, and ordering items on Tokopedia.

4. Warehouse Workers

Robots powered by artificial intelligence will do warehouse operations around-the-clock without human intervention. As a result, they began to replace warehouse personnel in terms of transporting and organizing the placement of goods in the warehouse. This can decrease the placement of goods in the warehouse, hence reducing human error and enhancing productivity. In the 2020s, the concept of a ghost warehouse (warehouse without human workers) will become widespread.

5. Shop Cashier

In the 2020s, retailers like Indomaret and Alfamart will implement the Amazon Go-style notion of independent retail. This will herald the end of the profession of the cashier. Amazon debuted its autonomous retail prototype in 2017, and it’s only a matter of time before it expands to the rest of the world. Using computer vision, autonomous retail will allow customers to enter and exit stores without paying at the cash register. Instead, AI will know which goods were purchased and at what price and will debit the consumer’s virtual account accordingly.

6. Courier

Drones controlled by artificial intelligence will transport parcels or items quickly, precisely, and at a very low cost. Amazon is once again a leader in drone delivery. With the widespread use of drones, 2030 will mark the beginning of the “one billion drones” era.

7. Restaurant Waiter

As previously said, implementing consumer self-ordering technology can reduce the number of employees in your restaurant because consumers can order and pay for their orders independently (without the necessity for a cashier or waiter). Thus, you can cut the monthly wage budget of your employees. It must be realized that the selection of customer self-order technology is not just motivated by restaurant business efficiency. However, it can also prevent a business loss. In practical terms, if you employ many employees but lack the financial strength to pay them high monthly salaries, your organization will inevitably incur losses over time. To cut human pay costs, integrating customer self-ordering technology may be the best option. Therefore, you can ensure your business’s longevity in the long run.
